Jameel Hayes is a product of his environment, growing up in a single parent household. It wasn’t easy being the oldest of three boys and being raised by his mother. Jameel took a life that could have easily been tragic or considered another statistic and turned it into a life with promise and potential. Growing up with a strong black mother taught him to be strong and allowed him to see life from a different perspective. Everything wasn’t just black or white, there were gray areas also, and the glass was never half empty but always half full. Jameel started singing in high school at the age of 14.
