MAMAS GUN is 28 year old multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter & producer ANDY PLATTS.
I was born to a Filipino mother and a British father in Hong Kong, and spent the first half of my life constantly on the move between the East and the West living in various places in both Asia and Europe before settling in the UK. Music was one of the strongest threads in my life through all this so I fell into a musical world listening to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Queen, ELO, Sly and the Family Stone, and The Beatles. Upon my return to the UK for the second half of my life up till now I absorbed rock, metal, indie and grunge music, learning guitar and piano side by side. Growing into a young adult I became very turned on by jazz music and consequently set about learning to combine rock, jazz, funk, soul all within the context of (hopefully!) strong melodic songs.
